Trump Calls Relatives of Injured National Guard Soldiers to the White House

President Trump announced on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the executive mansion.

He added that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Event

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Memorials across the state have been held in their memory.

Presidential Call

The president stated he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the parents of both members of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump told journalists. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”

Community Reaction

Mourners assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the state guard as part of Trump’s government program to aid law enforcement in DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the type of pupil that instructors wished for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s alma mater, stated to the press. “She was caring, caring and always willing to assist people.”

Funeral arrangements for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Legal Steps and Policy Revisions

Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy led the government to pause asylum processing and halt issuing entry permits to owners of travel documents.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, started his military career in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, according to the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader the governor mentioned on television.

Attorney general Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she aimed to speak to the family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with excellence, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had fortitude,” Morrisey addressed the audience at the memorial. “Though her life ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
