Three Shortlisted for Young Athlete of the Year Prize

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the this year's Young Sports Star of the Year award.
The trio have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a historic innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The three contenders were announced live on a popular morning radio program.
The champion will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on the 18th of December.
The ceremony will be televised from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and surged to prominence with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
