Ex- Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
Prosecutors said the 45 charges include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
Authorities have asked individuals with information to contact the investigating team.
